Mumbai Traffic Police Announce Bandra Diversions Ahead of Mount Mary Fair 2026
Mumbai Traffic Police have announced road closures, one-way routes, heavy vehicle restrictions and parking curbs in Bandra from September 13 to 20 for the Mount Mary Fair 2026.
According to a traffic police notification, several roads around the church will face restrictions between 6 am and 11 pm throughout the fair. The order was issued by Dr Dipali Dhate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters and Central Traffic).
Mount Mary Road will remain closed to general traffic during the specified hours. Emergency vehicles and local residents carrying valid police car passes will be allowed to use the road.
St John Baptista Road will also remain closed to vehicles, except for local residents with valid passes.
Kane Road and Pereira Road will operate as one-way routes during the fair. Vehicles will not be permitted to enter either Kane Road or Pereira Road from B J Road.
At Carmel Church Junction, the right turn from Chapel Road towards Veronica Road will also be prohibited.
Heavy vehicles will not be permitted on several roads between 6 am and 11 pm. The affected roads are K C Marg, Chapel Road, St John Baptista Road, St Sebastian Road, Mt Carmel Road, Mount Mary Road, B J Road and Kane Road.
The traffic police have also imposed parking and halting restrictions on both sides of several roads during the fair. The affected stretches include Mount Mary Road, Pereira Road, Kane Road, Hill Road between St Paul's Road and Mehboob Studio Junction, Mt Carmel Road, Chapel Road, St John Baptista Road, St Sebastian Road, Rebello Road, Dr Peter Dias Road and St Paul Road.
Vehicles will only be permitted to stop briefly for picking up or dropping off passengers where allowed.
Motorists travelling through Bandra during the fair have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow traffic police instructions. The restrictions are intended to prevent congestion and maintain traffic movement around the busy pilgrimage area during the week-long fair.
